Janine Petersen

Founder, Wines of Colour SA

Janine fell in love with the wine industry and after extensive research, decided to start her own Wine Business called J9 wine. Entering the wine industry as one of the youngest black wine brand owners, a mother of two, and coming from a previously disadvantage background, Janine took on the challenge to build a world class brand.

Janine has always shared a passion for Social and Economic Transformation and has contributed to the youth participation within the wine Industry. She is currently working together with a task team that has been appointed by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development to relook at the current wine industry Transformation Structure to come up with a sustainable implementation plan that will service the entire value chain, prioritizing youth, women and people with disability. Janine has made it a priority that a portion of all J9 WINE sales goes towards the fight against Gender Based violence in South Africa.

Janine also founded #WINEOFCOLORSA in 2019, later joined by Mbali from NgiyiMbali Wines, WOCSA created opportunities for promotion and empowerment of young emerging wine makers and entrepreneurs in the wine industry through collaboration, education and acceleration by building a transformative sustainable ecosystem in the wine industry for emerging businesses.

Susan Robbie

Maanch

Susan Robbie is a consultant specialising in communications, social investment, and D&I. Susan's longest-standing client is the Diversity Trust, D&I training and consulting experts, who've recently co-opted her as a Non-Executive Director.

Through Maanch and Seismic, Susan advises corporates on ESG strategy, including D&I targets, using B Corp, other frameworks, and sustainability-linked loans.

Prior to this, Susan headed up social investment/CSR for a bank in London. She built youth empowerment and employability skills with difficult-to-reach young people from diverse backgrounds:

  • developing the bank's excellent programmes
  • growing the team from 1 to 5
  • securing significant engagement, senior buy-in and budget
  • winning awards, including Business of the Year in the Charity Awards and the Lord Mayor's Dragon Award for creating jobs in deprived areas


Many of the young people secured life-changing opportunities, internships, graduate placements, and employment.

Nene Molefi

Owner and CEO of Mandate Molefi Consultants

Mandate Molefi Consultants spans over 20 years in the field of whole system culture change, transformation, diversity, equity and inclusion.

Nene is an international speaker with a creative storytelling approach to sharing complex issues of South Africa's journey to democracy - helping participants navigate the difficult terrain of race, gender and intersectionality in society and their workplace.

She has facilitated numerous dialogue sessions and moderated courageous conversations with Boards, Executive Committees & Senior leadership across different sectors and countries.

Nene is an author of a book, A Journey of Diversity and Inclusion in South Africa: Guidelines for Leading Inclusively. She has also co-authored a Guidebook on Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmarks- Standards around the world. She is an international Speaker and has facilitated workshops, spoke at conferences in Bangladesh, France, Germany, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Namibia, Pakistan, the USA, the UAE, UK, the USA, on the topic of Diversity & Inclusion.

Debbie Tembo

Since 2016, she has been working with FTSE 100 clients, Top 100 Law Firms and one of the Big Four as Client Relationship Director & Board Member at Obelisk Support Legal Solutions.

With a very strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), Debbie has advised FTSE 100 companies and professional services firms about the strategic importance of DE&I and its position as a critical enabler of long-term sustainability, both from a people and profit perspective. Additionally, Debbie is involved in the procurement and RFP processes of large institutions, with DE&I as a critical component.

In her role as DEI Partnerships Director, Debbie advises some of the largest global brands in the marketing and advertising industry on how to achieve equity through brand communications and product innovations by adopting more inclusive marketing strategies and practices.
