Penny Streeter OBE

Penny Streeter OBE's wine and hospitality businesses in South Africa and the UK - as well as her medical staffing companies, Ambition 24hours and Nursing Services of South Africa - achieved further outstanding success in 2023.

One of the few women vineyard owners anywhere, Penny's Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate at Hermanus joined the top 100 in The World's Best Vineyards. Its distinctive cool climate wines won many accolades including two 5-star and eleven 4.5-star Platter's awards.

Sustainable farming practices earned Benguela Cove the status of a World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) Conservation Champion.

In the UK, the 740-acre Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens in West Sussex is another of Penny's notable wine and hospitality successes. She acquired and transformed the neglected Grade I Listed gardens in 2017 to create a unique Michelin Star 'dine and stay' wine-tourism experience.

With its first release of English Sparkling wine in 2024, the estate combines the beauty of English woodland gardens with the innovation of South African wine production, led by Benguela Cove's winemaker Johann Fourie.
